Outlook Customer Manager not working

Hello,

 

My OCM doesn't work, it just stays loading and doesn't do nothing. This happens to me in Outlook and also in OWA too. Strangely, it doesn't happen at the Outlook iOS app, there OCM loads properly. Can you help? Thanks.

Hi Pablo,

 

Regarding the OCM keep loading, please clear the cache of your IE browser with the steps below and check if the issue can be fixed.

1. Please go to IE settings > General > Settings under Browsing history > Caches and databases.
2. Delete cache files for the website "outlookapps.com".
3. Then, restart Outlook 2016.

If the issue still exists, could you please share with the following information for troubleshooting?

1. Does OCM work fine in Outlook and OWA before?
2. A screenshot of the symptom. you can click Reply and then upload the screenshot in your post.

I have tried all of your suggestions and OCM is still just "sitting and spinning".  It does the same thing in OWA and the Outlook iOS app.

I have the same type of Problem. OCM was working fine on my Desktop and iPhone, several weeks. However since some days the desktop version hangs. I can open a new deal, but when I would like to add detail, the Responsible field is open, and none of the changes can be saved (the save field stays grey)

 

All activity on the iPhone is still working.

I am experiencing the same problem. OCM is not functioning on my desktop. If the icon is highlighted on the ribbon, I am able to open the application but functionality is limited. Many times the icon is missing or inaccessible. My iOS app functions without issue.

@Pablo Moricz I get a runtime error when trying to load OCM :( 

Runtime Error

Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".


Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

@Amanda Zhang I am having the same issue in windows 8.1 but it works fine on Windows 10 (error: something went wrong, we're having one of those days. Lets give it another go). No success with any of the suggestions so far.

in my case I got it resolved by using fiddler and seeing which urls that are used by outlook where being blocked by my antivirus/firewall. Apparently Outlook uses many different ones. If you wanna quickly understand if your problem actually is the antivirus/firewall, then disable it temporarily and check if by reloading the OCM it now works. If it does, then that's your problem! 

What you'll need to do is create new rules in your firewall (depending if it's controlled by your antivirus or windows you'll need to do this in different places) that allow traffic coming from urls used by outlook to come through. Here's a list of those urls:

@Free_Bird Same here I haven't been able to get it to work. I get that "one of those days" errors. They should remove the buttons from the ribbon if they can't get it working.

Yes. We are now two months since this issue was reported and no response from Microsoft. The issue in windows 8.1 is not antivirus related and can't find a solution to it.
