I have installed Office365 in order to use OCM 2 weeks ago for our team of 8 people so its a brand new install - latest version.
I had a trial to evaluate Office365 & that's the only thing I can isolate that was different to my colleagues.
Now my Outlook Customer Manager hangs / freezes all the time. It does not happen to my colleagues. I have read other posts about clearing the cache in IE Setting & have done this but it does not solve the problem.
I turn on Outlook, I navigate to OCM (via the Add Ins option on the bottom left of the screen) and I can see under the 'Today' tab some info being pulled through - an email under the Focused section, and some figures under the Deal Summary section. Then I click on with 'Contacts or 'Companies' or 'Deals' and it hangs - I just get a spinning wheel - and it will stay there for hours if I let it.
I have dealt with Microsoft tech Support over the phone and they have remotely looked at my PC and the settings for Office365. All looks correct and they have done all they can to examine it - and now they suggest using this forum to get help.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Office 365. I have use the 'in depth' repair function live under Microsoft Tech support supervision.
The problem I describe has been there since day 1 (2 weeks ago)
When I have an email selected and choose OCM form the ribbon on the top right hand side, sometimes I get a message 'Outlook Customer Manager - Something went wrong -
We're having one of those days. Let's give it another go.'
The when i give it another go, and I add a contact, when I type in the company name I get a spinning wheel with 'Searching for Companies' and some text saying 'Search Companies from Bing'
The spinning wheel stays forever - and while I can save the persons name and number - the company name will not save.
Can someone help me to resolve this Freezing / hanging issue?
Was this ever solved? I am having the EXACT same problem. New to Office365 (Monday) and found this thread using Google. I would like to use this feature but not if it wont even let me add a simple business name to my contact record.
Hi Swezey, I found a way around it. I think the problem may have been that there was an old version of Office2007 still on my PC so I found all Office related programs and uninstalled them completely. Then switched my default browser to IE. Also cleared the cache. It started to work then. OCM is certainly slower than I would have expected - but it works. Best of luck
