Seem to be having an issue with the OCM that others have reported.

 

When I create a new company via the contact details, it will just hang as though it is trying to create a new record, I can navigate away from it, but not save it.

 

I followed the most common recommendation regarding clearing the IE cache for outlookapps, and it worked, however the next time I tried it, we are back to the same issue.

 

Any input please?

Hi Gerry,

 

First, please perform the following steps to clear the cache of your IE browser with the steps below and check if the issue can be fixed:

                1. Please go to IE settings > General > Settings under Browsing history > Caches and databases.

                2. Delete cache files for the website "outlookapps.com".

                3. Then, restart Outlook 2016.

 

Meanwhile, I’d like to know if you do these steps to create a business contact:

  1. Open an email message. The Outlook Customer Manager pane to the right of the reading pane shows you information about the email and the sender.  
  2. Select Add as contact under the sender's name in the Outlook Customer Manager pane.  
  3. Fill in any additional contact details and then select Save

I had followed steps 2 & 3 previosuly and it alleviated the problem for a short time, thereafter the problem goes back to how I decribed it, however I will try again.

 

Your decription of how to add a contact matches my method, with the exception that when I create an entry in the Company field, it then hangs with the revolving circle, and you are then unable to save the form, although I am able to exit the OCM form without it locking up or crashing

Having forced an update after my last message and restarted, the same problem exists.

 

Deleted cache files for the website outlookapps.com and it works for one entry, then goes back to not being able to save the company details

Can you please collect an app log using the following steps?

  1. Open OCM app
  2. Click anywhere on OCM
  3. Press the keyboard sequence SHIFT+O then SHIFT+C then SHIFT+M
  4. An IE window should open with the log information
  5. Reply to me with the log.
