I get the message " ADD-IN ERROR Sorry, we had to restart because this add-in wasn't responding." I can click "Restart" which brings it up for a few minutes and then crashes again. The error message stays the entire time (just in a collapsed form, so I just see the red X in the left hand corner).

I've spend several hours with Microsoft support.  They confirm that it is a known "issue" and the engineers are working on it.  To their credit they captured detailed information, tracking logs and screen shots to better understand the error.

 

To Microsoft's discredit, they forced me and many others to move from Office 2013 BCM, which worked, to Office 2016 and Outlook Customer Manager, which quite simply is a good idea but does not work at all.  As a company we have lost tons of valuable information, wasted many hours trying to get data info something that does not work and they have no idea when it will be working.  This is not an incovenient bug.  This is a system that does not work, period.

 

I'm waiting for an announcement from Microsoft of a re-release of a version of Outlook Customer Manager that works.

 

Do not waste any time on using this program at the present.  It simply does not work.

 

We are back to the drawing board trying to develop a new Customer Management System suitable for a small business, that works.  We are working out solutions using existing tools in Office 365 SharePoint.

We are working on the fix for the add-in errors and treat this as our top priority. There are multiple root causes of the issue and depending on your data, you may be running into different issues (but all resulting in a similar add-in error in the UI). We rolled out the fix to one of the main issue late last week and will release the fixes for the remaining issues in the next few weeks. If you are blocked with this issue, please contact me via private message for a possibility to get the fix to your account sooner. 

I had this add-in error for a month now and Microsoft has yet to fix this. Each week I check back and get the same answer. We are still working on a fix. Ahhhh!!!

We are also seeing the Outlook Customer Manager Add-In Error: This add-in is not responding.... We have tried the recommended fixes around "contacts" (removing outlookapps.com from IE Caches & Databases, and rebuilding the MS Outlook index) but the error still persists.  When selecting a contact, the message "Loading activities" displays for a time (minuites), sometimes details are displayed, sometimes we see the error.  It just seems very intermittent and flakey.  Using Outlook 1706 (Build 8229.2103) on Windows 7 and 10
