Lost documents in OCM

I have been dealing with one particular contact for almost a year, with at least ten documents being sent to him every month and several emails per week.

I save the documents on the notes side, along with a copy/paste version of the emails/SMS/Phone calls, so that I have them in one place. The writing has stayed, but the documents have gone, leaving only the spaces they occupied.

Any ideas on:

1) how to recover them &

2) how to prevent it happening again.

Not effecting other contacts as yet.

Do you mean that you cannot see those documents but the spaces they occupied remain there?

 

It could be a view issue, you may reset the Outlook view to verify the result.

1. Close the Microsoft Outlook, and open the Run dialog box with pressing the Win + R keys.

2. Enter the outlook.exe /cleanviews in the Open: box, and click the OK button.

Then Microsoft Outlook opens with restoring the default views of all folders immediately.

 

Meanwhile, please check if Outlook has installed the latest update. You may share the detailed version and build through File > Office Account.

 

To prevent it, please go to IE settings > General > Settings under Browsing history > Caches and databases > delete cache files for the website "outlookapps.com". Then, restart Outlook 2016.

 

If the issue persists, please capture a screenshot of the missing documents part.
