Hello 

 

I am getting an error message while importing BCM contacts csv file in OCM.

 

Contacts->Import-> CSV format->Browse the CSV file 

 

Error " The file limit should less than 30KB"

 

Any help would be highly appreciated!!

As a workaround, you can divide the contacts to separate CSV files and limit them in 30KB , then import one by one.

Did you at least test what you propose to try?

I have a customer where I try to migrate approximately 1.400 contacts (with 30 columns each) it needs 11 CSV files, in my case between 130 and 160 contacts per file so I will not imagine how many files are needed for 55.000 contacts... Somewhere beetween 350 and 400 files...

That's not good working.
Especially when for each file you need to relink the data and moreover for some files when I want to link the data, the field name language change... (saw it not later than for 20 minutes on a German Office 2016 up to date) and I don't speak spanish or some nordic language.

 

Sorry but ocm makes me sad! :(

I totally understand your experience. OCM is a new services and are in a fast development with many customers'feedback. 

For the first question, the 30KB file is a limitation. You can submit your feedback via the link: 

https://outlook.uservoice.com/forums/407082-outlook-customer-manager. Understanding your feedback is the best way to perfect our product. 

 

For the second question, our engineers have been aware of this issue and working on it. We try to deploy a fix from backend as soon as possible.

I understand that's a new product but for me it should not be sold now.

I spoke to one of our business client from the product and unfortunately he upgraded his business emails to the office 365 to use OCM whithout asking me. Ok it's on him ha had to wait because I said to him let me check before and he didn't.

But that's a good example that the people who buy not always have enough IT knowledge.

For those people if a product is released it must be working. For me too but at this time I feel it more like a beta or a pre-release version (moreover I ran into loading issue when I click on the OCM icon in Outlook).

To come back to the original issue with limit size, after I reduce the number of columns I saw that they are limited to a little bit more that the number I had (approximately 30 and OCM allows 25 custom plus the integrated one) but with the original export from BCM I had too much it's just luck if I myself found they were too much columns.

 

So for the moment it cannot replace BCM but... I'm angry because I can no longer download office 2013 with the 365 account, if this had been possible I probably roll back to 2013 (even better than the original 2007 or 2010).

I have found one workaround where you can import the contact in outlook it will show up in ocm as well. The only dis advantage of this work around is it will show up in outlook contacts as well. It will also give you option to add more fields.
