We are piloting OCM for 2 users, running the latest version of Outlook desktop app and the OCM add-in. Both users are running Windows 10 Pro, latest release.

 

  • User 1 is our primary sales person, responsible for creating companies/deals/contacts.
  • User 2 doesn't actually create or have any contacts/companies/deals, but just wants to see User 1's. 

To that end:

 

  1. User 1 has shared all his contacts.
  2. User 1 has shared all his companies.
  3. User 2 cannot see any contacts from User 1 that have been shared.
  4. User 2 can see all User 1's shared companies, and those companies referenced contacts appear in the details, but those referenced contact statuses are showing as "deleted" (a warning triangle appears next to the names).

 

I've tried:

1) Clearing the outlook apps cache

2) Restarting Outlook in "safe" mode and clearing the OCM cache (for both users).

 

How can I get this in sync so that the proper data is showing for both users? Any suggestions for troubleshooting this?

We do have the same issue: Shared contacts are not visible for other users… Help would be appreciated :)

Exact same issue here. Contacts that have been imported via CSV and shared are not seen by other users. Companies however are visible.

The number of issues we've encountered every step along the way with the tiniest of tiny pilots to use this product in a small organization should be a major red flag warning sign to me...While I did get incredible help from the MS product team recently (HUGE kudos to Gord/Nick et al) I have to say I am just so beaten down by this app.

 

If anyone uses this app successfully I would love to hear from you.

We're having exactly the same problem! Deals and Companies are now syncing between us, but Contacts are just the ones that user has created. 

 

Next the Contact name under the Company, it has 'this contact was deleted or was not shared with you' and an alert icon.

 

It's not just user specific either -- no matter which user creates the contact, shares and marks as a business contact, it still won't actually share the contact. Pretty frustrating as Deals and Companies is now syncing for us perfectly!

Tried again a few minutes ago, with no luck. I tried disabling and enabling the CM again on all clients but it did not make a difference. I confirmed the version we have is 18.100.1121.2 which should be the latest (build time is 11/21/2018 - 11:51:20PM)

I tried changing/saving an existing contact, and it still doesn't share with other users.

 

Was there actually a fix applied in the back end in an attempt to address this? Or are you just suggesting troubleshooting steps?

This sharing issue has been persistent for over a year.  I know the OCM team has worked hard on this (I worked closely with them to develop my BCM Migration Tool), but I doubt the front-line support staff will be of much help on this issue.  At this point the OCM team owes the public a blog post to affirm their commitment to the product and to address this critical issue and the numerous customer and developer concerns.

OCM seems like to me to be about alpha/beta level software. I was an early beta tester and was very hopeful about it but pretty much nothing has improved in it since its release. It still has MAJOR bugs. Too often it won't start, needing a cache to be cleared. Trying to export the current view, using Edge as my browser, fails 100% of the time.

 

Unless they've been secretly working on an update, I expect it to follow in Listings and Connections footsteps and be retired. 

 

I used BCM from the very beginning and loved what it finally became; then MS killed it. OCM sounded great, but seems to have been abandoned pretty much shortly after its release.

I am having issues with sharing deals contacts and companies.

 

Some time the company shares, sometimes the contact shares and sometimes the deal shares.

 

We have just started to use OCM and were hoping it would suit our needs.

 

These issues are not all users some users all works fine others but with others it is proving to be very hard,

 

We do not wish to spend $0,000's to get ourselves sorted as we only have 12-15 users who will be involved.

I even sent a ticket asking for support but haven't had any feedback whatsoever, wether to tell me they're working on it nor to tell me they won't work on it...

What desicion did you make in the end? Did you change to another CRM or did you get the actual problem solved?
