Occasional Visitor

I am unable to add me gmail account to Outlook, I continually receive 'something went wrong on the incoming (pop/imap) please check email address and password and try again.  I have tried to trouble shoot with no luck of resolving.  Any suggestions?

@morlowski25  I am having the same issue, I have completed all troubleshooting suggestions on both outlook and gmail; nothing works! super frustrating. I had my gmail acct on my outlook, it stopped syncing, so I thought 'I will remove it and add it back' now I am not able to add it back.

Based on your description that you want to configure Gmail account to Outlook, first please double check if you have entered the correct IMAP configuration protocols in the Outlook manually, like the Incoming/Outgoing server addresses, ports.  You can easily find them in the Gmail Web App > Settings > Forwarding emails.. 

 

If you have tried them but issue persists, in this case please try to enable the 2-factor authentication for your Gmail account, after that please see if it make any difference, thanks. 

 

On another hand, noticed that your broblem is not related to Outlook OCM, and the category is dedicated for Outlook OCM support. If your problem persists, Microsoft has dedicated Support Forum for Outlook emails, it is recommended that please post a new thread to Office 365 Forum  to get further professional assistance regarding your problem, thanks.

If you have tried the suggestions above still doesn't work, in this case please try to modify the outgoing/incoming server address to smtp.googlemail.com/imap.googlemail.com  other settings ( like ports etc) no need change. After that please see if it helps.

 

On another hand, as your problem is not related to Outlook OCM, and this forum channel is dedicated for Outlook OCM, if your issue persists, please refer to my first reply above to post a new thread about your current problem in Office 365 Forum, the dedicated support engineers there are focusing on Office related problems, thanks.
