Outlook.com now supports groups

You can use groups on Outlook.com to create a shared distribution list and access a group inbox with archived emails, shared files, and a group calendar. Groups allows you to connect, coordinate, and contribute to a shared purpose, all in one place.

Outlook.com service users can create and manage a group, while anyone with an email address can participate, including users with a Gmail or Yahoo email address. To create a group, sign in to your Outlook.com account and in the left-hand panel under “Groups”, select “New Group”.

We are rolling this out worldwide on Outlook.com and expect all users to have access by the end of August 2019 with expanded support to create a group in mobile in Fall of 2019.

When will you support address list browsing? You know, like on the Outlook on the Web experience you're replacing right now?

Should be nice to also integrate this with the Family functionality of a Microsoft Account. It seems to have a lot of overlapping functionality...

Thanks @Daniel Niccoli for the comment! Can you help me understand more about address list browsing? Feel free to directly message me.

Hi Sahil, I'm not sure what you mean. I'm talking about this feature that was there for the past 10 years and now isn't. The "Directory", which is just another name for the address list.

Hello!

I am unable to invite people to the group. The search field says "not found".

Hope this means that I will very soon be able to publish an Outlook.com group calendar in Microsoft Teams - I know the Teams developers are working on supporting Office 365 group calendars so I hope this will include Outlook.com group calendars too.

Hi - will the mobile rollout include the ability to view and edit a group calendar in both Android and iOS? Right now it's not possible to even view a group calendar on either device.

@Aimee Sudeck Would you recommend using Groups over Family Functions? Groups seem to be more flexible while Family offers additional functionality... Could you give a bit more inside how they differentiate or integrate?
