Forbid OneNote 2016 to create a notebook on OneDrive at the first start

Is there any way to restrict OneNote (2016 as part of O365) that it should create a locally saved notebook instead of a OneDrive based one? The browser access to OneDrive/SharePoint is disabled in our company but OneNote as application is still able to sync to this destination.

Hi @Thomas_Steibl - you could try blocking it as an allowed file type in the OneDrive admin center > Sync

Thanks @Kelly_Edinger  I'll give it a try. As long as my notebooks are placed on SharePoint teamsites it should still work right?!

Hi @Thomas_Steibl - yes, its a setting specific to OneDrive
