One Drive For Business - sync with Windows Server

I have been asked to look in to how to sync our Windows Server with One Drive -  I need the sync to be from the Server to One Drive and not the other way round - is this possible using One Drive or do I need a piece of third party software to achieve it?


Files need to be kept on the server and then some will be shared with external contacts using One Drive if possible.


Any suggestions/recommendations welcome.

Hi Karen!

You can not use OneDrive for Business to share the files (from a fileserver) with external contacts. You must first migrate/move the files from the fileserver to SharePoint and/or OneDrive for Business in order to be able to share them (from SharePoint and/or OneDrive for Business) with external users.
