Group policies OneDrive sync

Steel Contributor

Hello,

A set of available group policies is defined on https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Use-Group-Policy-to-control-OneDrive-sync-client-settings-0...

Will the following two be added somewhere in the future?

- set the default value for OnDemand sync

- set the maximum local storage that the sync tool can use

Ideally on our shared pc's we only want to allow on demand and no syncing at all.

Thanks,

Bart

But after you open an on demand file it will be synced anyway...

I guess so, but by setting a maximum storage we could try to manage it somehow.

It would make the ondemand sync tool the Windows Explorer view on your OneDrive :)

I agree with the keeping the redirect as a standard option and not allowing the sync.  Looking for one drive settings to work with VDI.   Trying to keep the profiles and redirected folders as light as possible.  I realize that when someone opens a file it downloads much like opening a attachment in a email, but I would like that to be temporary while they are working on it.

Hi zz_Admin-John Ford. Have you considered mapping a drive instead? This would give you a similar kind of behaviour that you are looking for in that only the files being worked on will consume local storage space.
