This is not a feasible approach! Also, if you managed to do so, you'll need to do this again every time any template is changed!

I'll suggest setting up a SharePoint library everyone has access to with all the templates! This is then also the "truth" for all the latest templates! People can then also sync the library with the OneDrive client as well ( doable with GPO now or soon )
If people are using Microsoft Teams, theres been cases where I have created a SP library called something like "Templates" with read only access and add that library as a SP Library tab in their teams and call it templates
