Change owner of Onedrive that will be removed

Hi,

If we have an user leaving the company that OneDrive will be deleted eventually. During that time the manager has access to the OneDrive. If we change temporary owner of the OneDrive will the OneDrive still be removed after X number of days or will the change stop the removal process?

AFAIK,
