We are working on tweaking our permissions for file sharing for our staff in both OneDrive and SharePoint. In OneDrive, we have set permissions to allow sharing with "New and Existing External Users" and required external users to accept sharing invitations using the same account where the invite is sent.
Sharing from OneDrive on the web works fine. However, we are unable to share with external users via Windows or Mac in file explorer. When entering an external user's email address, we're given an error "couldn't find an exact match". I've tried rebuilding my OneDrive settings as a test, to no avail.
Why can we share externally from the web but not a user's PC? Is this a permissions mismatch between Office 365 and the local user's account? Thanks for any guidance.
