Block Downloads

Steel Contributor

Hi,

I understand that at some stage, users will be able to send links that prevent recipients from downloading the file. Is there an update on this?

Hi @David Gorman

According to the uservoice this is currently rolling out

We’ll be gradually rolling this out to customers in late November, and the roll out will be completed worldwide by the end of January.

Also, this is marked as rolling out on the Microsoft 365 Roadmap

I would check in your tenant. If it not in your tenant yet I would check back over the next week or so.

Hope that answers your question!

Best, Chris

This is rolling out currently! I have in my tenant!

It will work for anonymous links and people in your organization! It will also be greyed out if you have read/write permissions on the share!

Thanks all.

Hi @David Gorman ,

I'd also recommend following the OneDrive TechCommunity Blog. Every two weeks we post about the latest features that are rolling out so it's a good way to stay up to date. Block Download should be fully rolled out shortly so feel free to give it a try and enjoy!
