Automatic Team Library Syncing time

Are there any plans to improve the time it takes to map a team document library via the OneDrive GPO? It currently specifies that it may take up to 8 hours however was wondering if there's any plans to improve this? Trying to replace mapped network drives with team document libraries and this could be a hindrance to the user experience

@Rhys Williams Exactly the same scenario in ours. However I am trying to sort this by deploying Libraries to all users and then decide who have access to what. SO all users will see synced sites (after this 8hrs) but permissions will be limited to whether they can access the site or not as permissions changes are live.

New users will have to be explained unfortunately.

I am not waiting for Microsoft patch to this as I was waiting for the ability to sync sites over a year.
