We are looking at using Yammer via the YamJam pattern for doing innovation/ideation jams. Since we have an active Yammer community we'd rather not implement a new platform for the innovation jams, but it seems that YamJams could pose some challenges with this type of interaction, particularly with a large group of participants (hundreds or more). Thinking about 1-2 hour jam sessions on focused topics. Mainly not sure how managing the threads of conversation around different ideas coming in from the audience will work, both in real time and after the session when there would both be central information gathering as well as ongoing async participation. Would love to hear from anyone that has had experience with this.
