We are recieving alerts for new user creation (one drive) when site collection alert is configured

We have configured the site collection creation alert in the office 365 compliance center under Alerts section. but this is generating alerts even for the new user creation as part of personal one drive's being created internally.

How can we restrict this to only SharePoint based site collections or is it going to be addressed as a bug.

It's not a bug as OneDrive is a form of a SharePoint Site.

It doesn't make any sense. both are two different services in Office 365 and there should be a way to distinguish whether the site collection is created as part of one drive (personal Site) or SPO site collection. I dont see that option for one drive specific events too.

our inbox is getting flooded with emails whenever a new user is created in the organization. It should be treated as a bug or consider for a change in further improvements.
Indeed Cary is correct, ODFB y SPO are built on top of SharePoint so I would say there is a lack of functionality better than saying this is a bug

A quick solution to this would be to see if there are any unique strings in the notification emails for the one drive sites vs SharePoint sites and have Flow delete the ODFB notifications based on the message texts.

it's probably a work around but in our case we have a DL to be notified with these changes. We can't control other's mail because it doesn't have that access.
