WANTED: 50 experts for our Collab365 MicroJobs launch in November

Brass Contributor

We’re going to be launching Collab365 MicroJobs at our Collab35 Global Conference on November 1st.

What is it?

Collab365 MicroJobs is a dedicated marketplace for Microsoft professionals to buy and sell ‘micro jobs’ across technologies such as Office 365 (SharePoint, PowerApps, Teams, Flow), Azure, ASP.Net/MVC and Windows.

To launch we’re looking for 50 experts to offer their services so that we can showcase them to 1000’s at the Collab365 Global Conference.

What is a “Micro Job”?

A Micro Job (also known as a ‘gig’) is a small discrete piece of work that you can perform for a customer. It’s not a permanent job, or even a long-term contract. Think of a Micro Job as something that will take between 1 hour and 2 days to complete. (We expect the average to be 2-3 hours).

We also expect that nearly all the Micro Job’s performed on Collab365 MicroJobs will be done remotely using tools like Skype, GotoMeeting, etc.

Who are we looking to partner with for our launch?

The type of person we’re hunting for will be an expert in a Microsoft technology and also have one (or all) of the following:

  • Received an MVP / MCM
  • Be a Microsoft Certified Trainer
  • Recognised Speaker
  • Highly active in the community

What are the benefits?

There are many benefits to becoming a MicroJob’s seller (depending on who you are) :

The Entrepreneur

You may be working as a permanent employee and / or have entrepreneurial tendencies but would like to pay for that next holiday, improve your skills and also turbo-charge your CV.

Example: You could offer a pair-programming call via Skype while the tea is cooking.

The Consultant

You may be working for a consultancy and looking to forge new relationships with clients from around the world. What better way to build that initial relationship than to provide an introductory service with them?

Example: You offer a 2-hour call to help a customer with a business case to move to Office 365.

The ISV

You may be working in an ISV and struggling to find new customers. If you can offer something that your product does (and do it for them), the next natural step will be for them to purchase a license.

Example: If you sell a migration tool, you could offer to migrate a small piece of something to get the customer over a barrier.

The Trainer

You may be a skilled trainer who is looking to work from home and spend more time with the kids. With the tools in place today, remote one-on-one training has become much easier to achieve.

Example: Load up Skype for business, hit screen share and take them through a course on “How to get the most out of Microsoft Teams”.

How will we get buyers to find your jobs?

We’ve been active in the Microsoft community for a long time now. We have a network of Collab365 sites getting 1000’s of visitors per day. We also run massive, online conferences attracting people from all around the globe featuring expert speakers from the community and Microsoft.

It’s because of our community involvement that we see the problems customers are facing in day in day out.

It’s also because we’ve built such a large community that it’s a natural “next step” for us to help them break down the barriers in utlising Microsoft technologies.

How to apply:
