Unable to connect to exchange online powershell

I am trying to connect to exchange online PowerShell using my MFA enabled admin account in server 2012 r2 but it fails with the error message :the specified ShellId is incorrect or the shell no longer exists on the server. Provide the correct ShellId or create a new shell and retry the operation. however the same admin account works just fine and connects to exchange online in another servers.

And it work for sometimes intermittently in this affected machine.kindly suggest a way to resolve this.

There's no fix, simply try again. Using the -UserPrincipalName parameter seems to have better success rate, but overall the module in general is not very reliable.
