Two different domains in one Office 365 tenant

Copper Contributor

Here is the current scenario. I have company A as a child domain of company B (companyA.companyB.com). Company A is looking to take ownership of their own domain and become companyA.com in their own forest. Company A dosent want to take ownership of their email services which are fully on Exchange Online. CompanyB (corporate) has ownership of the tenant. Currently they use AAWhat are the recommended solutions for a migration of this type? Can Company B (corporate) have multiple domains in a single tenant or does company A needs to acquire their own tenant and mange their email services? Is a Domain trust needed once company A branches off to its own forest.  thanks in advance

Hi Eduardo,

You can have both scenarios.

If you need Trust or not you can have the ADConnect Syncing different Forests and have the domains separated.

Or complete separate Domain and Tenants a do a Tenant to Tenant Migration.

Here you have the scenarios supported https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/connect/active-directory-aadconnect-topologi...
