The status bar is giving only partial information in word

The status bar in word 365 is acting weird when I open files...it does not give the total page count and the term words is always in the singular even though there is more than one word. A partial solution is to focus and defocus the document which then makes it normal but I would still like for this issue to be fixed. Screenshot attached
