I have a weird question about why our company has two exact same email addresses in Office 365 admin center. One account is an "Active user" and the other is a Shared Mailbox." Both of these accounts have the same exact email address.
Not that it matters, but I use one as a service account to "scan to email" on our multi-function printers. I need to authenticate to Office 365, so I use the "Active user" account one because it has a password.
How in the world did I end up with 2 email addresses that are both exactly the same email addresses?
Example
Thanks,

This should absolutely not be possible. Can you please share some screenshots of these accounts so I can compare them please?

Are you sure they're not the same? Every shared mailbox has a matching user account, much like every user mailbox has.

Oh yeah good point. I had forgotten about that. It could indeed be that these are in fact the same account.
