Office 365 Home Outlook

I am a user on my wifes account and neither of us can get Outlook to run except in web version. We bought our laptops from Currys (UK) in December 2019 and they have been less than helpful, eventually advising me to call Microsoft which I did and got cut off while waiting for an operative. Can anyone help? Outllook stalls at the #Loading' screen and after approx. 5 minutes we gte a message saying it wont load
