Office 365 AAD / Schema question

Copper Contributor

Hello,

I have an environment using AAD to replicate objects to Office 365 and Azure Active Directory.  I installed the original Exchange 2016 Schema extensions in our on premise Active Directory.

I'm confused if its best practice to keep the Exchange Schema extensions updated so all available mail enabled object are available.   I know with Office 365 hybrid you need to stay current with six months.

thanks for any guidance,

In general, no, you shouldn't need to update it.

Thanks - so only required if you want any of the new objects.  On the same note, what's the recommendation for keeping Azure AD Connect updated?

Well, AAD Connect gets releases fairly often and they introduce new features regularly, so you might want to keep it updated. There is even an autoupdate feature now.
