O365 Migration

Copper Contributor

Scenario is  a company with 500+ users , migrating to O365 from E2K10. Everything is fine, Migrations going on . Only 10% completed.  But now a wing from the company 120 uses and forming a separate company.   What is the easy way to migrate these 120 users to cloud.

Limitations - 1. They do not want to buy new Servers. So we cannot setup a Domain Controller on-prem for creating a new domain.

2. Half of the clients still on Win 7

3. Their accounts and data's are still in the orginal on-prem servers.

All inputs are welcome..

Hi Biju,

The best way is to use a Third party tool and contract a partner with experience with this type of migrations to other tenant.

Is there any third party

tool you can think of ?

Hi Biju,

Network upload could be an option for you:

I think the Network upload is to migrate pst files.   I am looking is to spun off 120 users from the existing on-prem servers to cloud.  And these users are located in different offices and all have Internet access. they don't want to create a domain controller in on

prem.

Hi Biju,

There is many third party tools like BitTitan, Skykick, Codetwo, among others.

So you want to provision 120 users to cloud in Hybrid environment. Use Azure AD connect tool to do so.

Not the Hybrid...  They don't want any DC's there. I was thinking of cloud only accounts. But the cloud only sign could be a challenged .

Here is a nice link to learn about all identities in Office 365.

If you want to create cloud identities you can use following link:

Finally if you want to opt for Azure AD connect follow this link:

Thanks,

Can anyone tell me where can I download      AdministrationConfig-V1.1.166.0-GA.msi   file..  It takes me to this link

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/enterprise/powershell/connect-to-office-365-powershell

and from there it took me to Microsoft Collaborate Page, where I couldn't get this download to connect to O365 Powershell

I'm looking for this as well.

I'm in the same predicament.  Microsoft has provided NO documentation on these changes!

We relied on this (Powershell management) for setting O365 accounts to non-expiring passwords (there is a legitimate need for those) and now we can't do anything because of this abysmally undocumented change.

I'm looking for the same file.

I'm trying to help a customer that needs to set a few accounts to never expire.

You can do this in PowerShell with the soon to be deprecated MSOL module :
Install-Module -Name MSOnline
Connect-MsolService
Set-MsolUser -UserPrincipalName usertobemodified@domainblabla -PasswordNeverExpires $true

To revert changes use -PasswordNeverExpires $false

Hello Biju,

Bit - Titan / Skykick are popular tools to migrate subset of users on an already existing Hybrid configuration to a new tenant.

I do have the old Administration Config Install file with me if really needed i can put it on WeTransfer or something similar to share

Cheers
