Migrated from on premis exchange 2010 to o365, mailuser instead of user mailbox

Can this be resolved?  I am unable to set up forwards or aliases for all uses who are under this contact in exchange admin center.  As a test I went ahead and created a new user as an admin in o365 and sure enough they are put into the mailbox tab and also give me the ability to create alias and forward emails.


Any help would be appreciated, this is a huge issue for this customer.

If your showing as mail user in 365 admin center then you haven’t completed or finalized your migrations if your mailboxes to 365. Part of this migration it changes the mailbox from mail user to mailbox when the cutover happens. It also marks your onprem mailbox to mail user

Ok thanks.  We stopped the migration because we were not happy w/ the way it was going.   We hoped to retain the accounts added but I guess that's a no go too.  I'll just bulk add w. a csv.
