Microsoft Word: "Edit Links to Files": create relative link

Iron Contributor

I have a template folder containg two files that are linked together:

  • Report template.docx (containing a set of graphs)
  • Report data.xlsx (placeholder file for all the graph data)

When I copy this folder, the newly created Word document will keep its links to the original Excel file. Is there any way I can prevent this by creating a relative link to "Report data.xlsx" in the current folder?

Just for reference: more info about "Edit Links to Files"

Found the answer after som further research. For graphs copied from Excel to Word (Links to Files), relative linking can be achieved by VBA macro.
