Just installed Office 365 Personal - Have questions

Copper Contributor

After installing Office 365 Personal, I was surprised that my previous version of Office was still intact. I'm not sure I understand how 365 works. I can open my Outlook 2007, then close, and then open Outlook 365, and they both have the same content. It appears 365 is mirroring my Outlook 2007 (and vice versa)... the latter operating from my local machine, the other operating from the cloud. Is this correct?  Should I uninstall Office 2007? Does it matter if I uninstall or not? Can I simply use both depending on my mood or whatever? Thanks for clarification.

@metrov O365 doesn't upgrade Office 2007, it's a separate installation.

I personally would remove 2007 - as it no longer gets updates.
