Only if you still have some onprem Interop. But stand alone teams does not.
This is just a rant, no disrespect to you Chris.
Sure would be nice if Microsoft updated their documentation and guidance in the Office Admin portal to tell Admins they don't need the entries in their DNS scope.

I know this thread is old but I thought I would post this text taken from 'Troubleshooting teams Rooms' learning resource as it may be relevent:

  • If you're in Teams-only mode, verify you have the Skype for Business Online DNS records configured. Teams still uses many Skype for Business Online features. If DNS settings are missing, those features could prevent proper operation.

Since I do not use Teams Rooms , yet, I probably wouldn't have ever found it. Thanks for the follow-up.
