Initialization of the data source failed

Hi all,

In Excel 2016, we built a data model with Power Pivot in our dashboard, and then shared to our users, who may be using Excel 2010/2013/2016.

When they want to interact with a PivotTable that uses the workbook Data Model as a data source in the dashboard, the error "Initialization of the data source failed” will happen. And we found below link to know about this error:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/power-pivot-error-initialization-of-the-data-source-faile...

It mentions that “To work around this error, upgrade to Excel 2013, Office Professional Plus edition. Data Models created in Excel 2013 will run only in workbooks that are also opened in Excel 2013.

My question is that our Excel is built in 2016 version, so do our users also need to upgrade to Excel 2016? Or is the Excel 2013 enough for them to run our data model in the dashboard?

Thank you!
