How to clear Outlook 365 Mail Auto-Complete

Copper Contributor

I have tried all recommendations:

- File > Options > Mail > "Empty Auto-Complete List"

- Delete NR2 file: I don't have one

- Edit Registry: I don't have the key

It's a useful feature, but useless now as it's cluttered up with outdated emails.  Thanks.

Have you tried closing Outlook, then opening it again with the switch below?

Outlook.exe /CleanAutoCompleteCache

To confirm, are you using Outlook on the Web, or Outlook desktop?
Type ahead cache is stored server side now with exchange online. I found this article to clear it however not sure if there is a newer one since but it should give you a place to start. https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/office/How-to-reset-OWA-auto-5b2b3d3b

Yes, I tried the "/Clean..." switch.  This is Outlook 365 on the desktop; Win 10 x64.  Will check that link.  Thanks.

That script appears to remove individual email addresses from AutoComplete.  How do I remove ALL email addresses?

It looks like it iterates through all the emails and removes them. Assuming there is no all switch. Did you mean for all users?

HI Mike

Could you confirm if you are trying to clear auto complete cache for one user or all users in your tenant. If it is only for one user I would recommend try to clear it using MFC Mapi. Refer to the below article.
