Hello,
I am working with distribution groups in an O365 environment, and I want to set my group of help desk technicians as the owner of each group so that any time I add a new member to my help desk group, they already have permissions to edit all of the distribution groups. I would love to have these groups maintained within their respective departments, however, we have come to conclusion that we cannot trust our users plus we have role-based permissions for our lower-level technicians, so they do not have access to the server side.
Currently, I have a Microsoft 365 group for my help desk team, and below is the error I get when I try to add it to the owners. Any advice would be much appreciated!

iHi @nicksanabria - I believe the group that you have for your help desk team is of type Distribution group. Can you test adding a security group? I believe that should fix your problem.

Please make sure security group was assigned
