Exchange Online - users using difference PC's during the day

Copper Contributor

Hello

We are thinking of going to Exchange Online with an E3 license but have a concern about users roaming to different PC's during the day. The concern is some of their mailboxes are 30GB.

Can someone with experience administering an environment where users roam to different PC's tell of their experiences.

All depends on connectivity. Honestly if they are roaming, I would save some money and stay E1 unless you need other E3 features and run everything through the web. They can access all their files, e-mail everything and it's a rather good experience these days. It'll perform better than having desktop client connecting without cache.

We don't think our users will tolerate e1 and get discounted pricing due to NFP status.

Connectivity is about 40Mbps symmetrical, shared among 25 users.

You can always setup GPO's so that Cached mode is disabled, then you don't have to worry about disk space. Or you can set cached mode low to something like 3 days or 1 week.

Ok.

Do you have any experience with Exchange Online with 25 users hotdesking using 40Mbps symmetrical some with maiboxes about 30GB in size?

No but I've setup Citrix server farm of 4 servers that had over 100 people accessing them and switching between endpoints based on load. That's essentially the same thing :p

With respect, can you not reply so someone with the experience asked for might answer.

That’s some comedy right there. Good luck Nick Burns.

Leave cached mode enabled and use GPOs to set the "cache slider" to something as low as a week or 3 days.
