We have exchange 2010 hybrid environment with all user mailboxes and distribution groups in O365.
We have delegated the distribution group owner to a user and given them rights to modify membership.
But the user gets following error while making membership changes from within outlook:
"The action update-distributiongroupmember, Identitiy-members, can't be performed on the object 'ABCD froup' because the object is being synchronized from your on-premises organization. This action should be performed on the object in your on-premises organization".
How can we get around this error and successfully delegate this function.
Can it be only performed using on-premises AD

SolutionAs the message clearly says, a group that is synchronized from AD needs to be managed in AD.
