Email analytics?

Copper Contributor

I am looking for a way to pull analytics out of o365.  Specifically monthly email counts to/from a specific domain, and anything similar.  Any suggestions?

thanks in advanced for any help you have to offer.

You have a couple of options here.  In the M365 Admin Center https://admin.microsoft.com, you can find usage reports for email activity as below;

Or from the Security & Compliance Center at https://protection.office.com , you may view the Mail Flow > Dashboard;

Finally, if you have Advanced Power BI,  you can go to Apps and add a really cool report as shown below;

Thanks for the quick reply.  I found some good stuff in the Mail flow section I had not known existed.

I should have been more clear with my request.  What I am looking for is a report that will show monthly emails going to/from my domain to/from another domain.  I am trying to find analytics on client contact for the org.

I think your best available option right now will be a custom query from the Message Trace tool under Mail Flow in the Security and Compliance Center.

Depending on the size of the OP's organisation, product limits may apply over an entire month:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/security/office-365-security/message-trace-scc?view=o...

[quick] Summary: 20k, but has a limit of last 10 days anyway

Enhanced Summary: 50k, horizon 90 days

Extended Report: 10k, horizon 90 days

If compiling these reports on a regular basis, I would be looking at ways to automate it.

message trace looks like its going to be the play.  I will need to clean up the search results, and look at ways to automate it, but I think I can get the info I am looking for from this.

Thank you to everyone who helped out!
