Deleting multiple contacts from Admin Console

Copper Contributor

Is there a way to delete more than one external contact from the admin console.  I would have thought that could just select multiple contacts and hit delete but only allows you to select one at once.

(We are a small charity with no IT department and my Office 365 knowledge is quite basic so will need step-by-step instructions or links to how-to articles if complicated!)

For some reason, the new Admin Center UI doesn't allow you to select multiple contacts. The easiest solution is to switch back to the old experience - use the "Try the new admin center" toggle on the top right of the page.

Hi Vasil
Thanks for getting back to me. I did this and does let me select multiple contacts, but then says Bulk Actions: There are no actions available for multiple contacts!!

Oh, well I guess PowerShell for the rescue. If you don't feel comfortable using PowerShell, you can try to perform the deletion via the EAC instead: https://outlook.office.com/ecp/

In the EAC, go to Recipients -> Contacts. Do note that other type of contacts will be visible there, including Guest users. Sort by Contact Type, then select the ones you want to delete (shift or ctrl for multiple selection).

Thank you - just what I needed.
