Can´t change the mobile number to verify identity

Dear knowers,

my Office 265 account sticks to an outdated mobile number, when it comes to verifying my identity, e.g. when I want to change a safety setting.

I have changed my mobile number to the new one, and still the "verify window" wants to send a code to my old number (pls. see attached). When I want to enter the recent number as safety number, I am told by MS Office 365: "number already known", but I can´t change the setting in a way it will send codes to my new number.

As a consequence, the only way I can verify my identity is by e-mail, which at times is inconvenient.

Sorry the attached image is German wording, however same pic as with English, so it should be clear enough I hope.

Any suggestions to the topic welcome.
