Calender Invite Response Issue

Hi All,

I'm having an issue with all of our users receiving calendar invite responses from external emails from certain email providers. So far I have had issues reported from gmail.com, icloud.com, and yahoo.com. I have done testing from multiple accounts and have been able to verify this is an issue affecting out whole organization.

When a user in our Office 365 sends a calendar invite to user@gmail.com, the gmail account will get the calendar invite, but when they chose a response it doesn't come back to Office 365. Same with Yahoo and iCloud (possibly more).

I sent a case in to Office 365 support, but they weren't able to help at all after looking into it for a couple weeks.  I haven't been able to come up with anything on my own, so I'm hopeful someone else out there has seen this issue before and can help us out.

Hey Jon,

 

To look into this further, we are going to need some headers of messages.

 

Could you perhaps grab the full headers of one of the tests you sent to your own gmail/yahoo/whatever.

 

There are not enough details for us to tell you why this could be happening at the moment, we will need to dig into some of the details of the actual send path.

I know there have been issues with this when you have a for example google account tied to that same address! And responses from the invited sends them to that calendar instead!

Does this happen to all responses from every of your users to every external user that uses gmail for example?
Or does it happen for some of your users not receiving responses?

I obviously haven't tested every single user, but as far as we know its organization wide.

Just for test, see If the affected user have their Mail accociated any of the other mail services! Log into that account and check the calendar

Most if not all of our users do have a gamil account associated with their email, but when I have tested the response does not show up in their Google calendar and since it is affecting multiple other email services where no association would exist, I think it is likely a larger issue.

Yes indeed, it seems so! It’s probably a good idea to somehow do a trace from the invite receiving side to see where the responses go!
