Adding a P2 license to increase mailbox size?

Hi Community

Is it ok to just add a P2 license to a user with an M365 Business subscription to give him a bigger mailbox without the hassle of archiving or cleaning it up? It is cheaper than providing M365 E3 with little added value.

Shoot -> Great arguments either way are welcome.

I suppose you are referring to the Exchange Online Plan 2 license? If so, yes, technically it gives him an "unlimited" quota, but the main mailbox is still limited to 100Gb and you will probably start having client issues long before hitting that. So taking advantage of Online archiving is still a good idea.
