M365 Product Key not working (country mismatch) while actually things should work

Hello,

 

MS customer support suggest me posting the following issue here:

 

I have a Microsoft account set for region Germany.

 

I have bought an original retail code for M365 to extend the subscription.

The code is for Germany and comes in the sealed original box.

 

The system however claims a country mismatch and stops with an error message like:

Fehlercode: ConversionBlockedCurrencyCountryMismatch
Korrelations-ID: 5e209170-4130-4880-a7f5-8b4fdd9d4299
 
Any suggestions to still fix it?
