Free busy not working for new O365 users

We have started migrating end users to O365 and they cannot share their calendars with on prem users and the same is true for on prem users sharing with migrated O365 users. I see that there are many suggestions of adding the O365 record/s to the on prem public facing DNS records. Since we are divesting some companies I assume we only need to change the records for the companies that are going to be related to O365 environments.

The record is the record I understand we should place on our public facing DNS record/s.

Has anyone done this before and where is a straight forward document regarding this?
