Today we are pleased to announce the availability of the Whiteboard app for iOS, and the commercial preview of the Whiteboard app on the web. Building on the Whiteboard app for Windows 10 released in July, these releases move us closer to achieving our vision of a collaborative space for ideation that is accessible from any device and integrates seamlessly into the collaboration workflows teams already use.
Whether on Windows 10, iOS, or the web, Microsoft Whiteboard provides an infinite canvas where imagination has room to grow. On your Windows or iOS device, you can draw, type, add a sticky note or an image, stack things up, move them around. And from any device with an up-to-date web browser, you can now open and view your boards, and add and erase ink.
Whiteboard brings every member of a team together, whether they’re huddled around a wall-size touchscreen or workingindependentlyfrom their ownlaptops, tablets, or mobile devices.* And because Whiteboard automatically saves your boards to the cloud, you can always pick up right where you left off, whenever, wherever – andnow from a broader range of devices.
To start using Whiteboard on your iOS device running iOS 9 or later, download the app for free from the Apple App Store. To start using the web app (commercial preview), your IT admin first needs to enable the service; more information available here. To start using Whiteboard on your Windows 10 device, download the app for free at the Microsoft Store.
*The Microsoft Whiteboardapps for Windows 10 and iOS areavailable for all users; Microsoft Account or Office 365 account required. For commercial users, the Whiteboard web app (preview) makes their whiteboardsaccessible fromother devices.
As we are approaching the end of the year and given that the only information we have is that the release will happen during this Q4, is there any Windows Insider-like programme that can be join to get early access?
Folks, if you're looking for the Android app get on the uservoice forum and vote, the higher the number of voters the higher up the Microsoft priority list. Get on an hit that vote button :beaming_face_with_smiling_eyes:
@ASantamaria , @nhskev , @jesusiniesta , @Ransiri2020Its great to see the excitement for Whiteboard Android. To share the good news, we are actively working on bringing Whiteboard on Android devices by end of the year!
@Ankit_Gulati, any updates on the release of the Android app? I'm counting the days for the Android app to be released as Q4 is almost gone :D :crossed_fingers: Thanks in advance
Is there any update? Already in 2021 (fortunately, for many reasons) and would love to be able to use MS Whiteboard on my Android devices and also on the web.
The web version (which is already being offered commercially) is not yet available to individual users, which is an absolute shame, is there a timeline to open the web version to all users? That would certainly reduce the frustration. Thanks!
Still waiting for the Android (the world’s biggest mobile OS platform) version. I saw it was promised as part of the roadmap for 2020, though I can't find it on the current roadmap.
Would be extremely useful in a world that will only demand more decentralised collaboration.
We, Surface users, have access to MS Whiteboard from our computers. Why is the access to the Android and Web apps restricted for us?
Seriously, there is not even a way we can pay to access it...
We've been allowed to taste an amazing product from our Surfaces, and now are suffering the frustration of not being able to use it (or to access the boards) from anywhere else.
@jesusiniesta We are currently working on providing access to our Android app to all Microsoft Account users (regardless of the fact whether they have a work or school account). That is why the Android app specifically carries a "Preview" label as of now . So, stay tuned for more updates.
@Thoma5Peter5en You can download the Whiteboard "Preview" App from the Google Play app store (Link: Microsoft Whiteboard - Apps on Google Play). However, kindly bear in mind that the app can only be accessed using a work or school account as of now but we are actively working to make it available for all Microsoft account users.
@Deleted Wielkie dzięki za wsparcie. Mamy nadzieję, że podobała Ci się aplikacja na Androida. Bądź na bieżąco, aby uzyskać więcej aktualizacji!! (Thanks a lot for your support. We hope you enjoyed the Android App. Stay tuned for more updates!!)
@Shubham_Goyal, is there a preferred way to give feedback?
I am one of the "lucky" ones who can access the preview app but to say I am disappointed is an understatement. All that has been done is embedding Edge Chromium in the "app" and launching the web page full screen. Other than full screen it provides from what I can tell any improvement to user experience or capability. This is a mile away from the iOS app.
@jesusiniesta We are actively working on providing support for all Microsoft Accounts users & will update our "preview" Android app once the same is done. We appreciate your continued patience & support!!
