I am maintaining several legacy systems. They are all built about the same time and are running WXP, and have always seemed to run the same.
I recently acquired a utility that runs on one box and not another. That box says "requires NET framework". I know NET framework exists, don't know anything about it, don't know if it is applicable to WXP. So I DL NET framework (ndp48-web.exe). Running ndp48-web.exe yields "Procedure Entry Point EventUnregister not located in advapi32,dll.
There are four copies of advapi32,dll in the Windows tree. On the chance that install could not find a copy, I extracted the files from ndp48-web.exe to a sub-directory, copied advapi32,dll to that directory, ran setup.exe, same error.
Any help for the ignorant?
TY
Dave
