Installation error with Windows 10 19043.1202

Copper Contributor

Hi,

since I updated Windows 10 to version 19043.1202 (from 19043.1165), the installation via an appinstaller hosted via IIS on a remote server (by copying files to the wwwroot folder) fails with an error message ('Error when opening package in location...'):

My colleagues with lower Windows 10 version can still run installations, other colleagues with the same Windows 10 version have the same problem.

I can reproduce the problem with a solution consisting of a minimal, unmodified 'WPF App (.NET Framework)' project and a 'Windows Application Packaging Project'.

Does anyone else have this problem? Any ideas about a solution?

Thanks!

Joachim

Hi,
Thank you for posting your question to our Tech Community boards. I'd like to help you with this.

Are you able to share with me your AppxManifest for this Windows app?

Hi @Joachim_Kueppers,

Can you confirm that the file name used to install is not consistent with another app that had been installed previously.

Can you please also share a copy of the *.AppInstall file being used, and the MSIX package. You can share on the blog, or DM me directly.

Thank you,

Roy

Hi,

in the meantime, the problem seems to be solved by a Windows Update.

I am now running build 19043.1288 and everything works just fine.

Thanks for your help!
