World Reference Frame

Hello everyone! I am new to mixed reality and hololens development! I am wondering what the best way to recognize a space and set a persistent reference frame? The goal is to enter a space and have the hololens register a frame that was predefined somewhere in the room (possibly out of sight initially). I am not sure if I should load a spatial mesh and try to identify similarities or use a world anchor. The issue is that I would like the hololens to be able to identify the frame origin even if it is initially out of sight by simply recognizing other features of the room it has seen before.
