Microsoft Viva Engage

Community Manager

The new Microsoft Viva Engage was announced today at Microsoft Inspire! This new app in Microsoft Viva is designed to help people and teams be their best, have a voice, and feel included in the workplace. Built on the foundation of Yammer, Viva Engage brings people together across the organization to connect with leaders and coworkers, find answers to questions, share their unique story, and find belonging at work.

How do you think you will use the new Microsoft Viva Engage to connect with your team?

What features of Viva Engage do you think will be most useful in continuing communication and collaboration with your employees or communities?

I know there has been some ridicule of the "Hybrid Update"; however, the fact that the Teams App has slightly different functionality to native Yammer doesn't worry me. Within the Office 365 'Tapestry' - we have learnt to respect the 'Fabric' of each component.

For 18 months now my Teams Navigation Bar has listed from top down...

Each representing Microsoft's "Communication Loops". In Office 365 we are offered three places to start a conversation: Yammer (Engage), Teams and Email. Outer Loop, Inner Loop and Direct Connection.
For organisations not already using Yammer and have a drive for more social connection, I think there's good potential here. It's a better solution for more casual/community than what I've seen organisations try to achieve within teams and channels.

Question: Leadership Corner, Leadership identification and audiences, Campaings and Analitics are not available in Feature Management even with Viva Suite assigned license.

There are only Answers, Rewards and Storyline buttons.

  • Permissions - Global Admin, Yammer Admin
  • Licenses/Apps - Viva Suite, Viva Engage Core + Office 365 E5 + Yammer enterprise

What can be the reason?@EmilyPerina

I believe those are rolling out now. If not available now, they should be soon (if you have a Viva suite license)
