As hybrid work models become widely embraced, reimagining how we nurture employee development and training and how we keep employees connected to each other and to benefits and wellbeing opportunities becomes critical to success. Last month, we launched Microsoft Viva, our new employee experience platform built to empower people and teams to be their best from anywhere.

Powered by the full breadth and depth of Microsoft 365, Microsoft Viva is experienced through Microsoft Teams and other core Microsoft 365 apps to bring together communications, knowledge, learning, and insights into an integrated employee experience.

Microsoft Viva Connections, one of the four Viva modules, is your gateway to a modern employee experience. It is personalized and appears in the apps and devices your employees already use every day, such as Microsoft Teams. Viva Connections provides a curated, company-branded experience that brings together relevant news, conversations, and other resources. You can learn more about Viva Connections in the announcement blog or in the Microsoft Ignite session Introducing Microsoft Viva Connections.

Really exited to see it on my developer tenant!

Hello,

As far as I see Viva connexions as Microsoft List is part of Sharepoint license. So I assume no licence/service to enable/disable to control user activation? Am I connect?

No way to control Viva Connections to be able to prepare documentation and communication set before deployment?

is so it is a shame :\

Thank to confirm what I am thinking

Will This open up workplace analytics to SMB now?

Gold Contributor

How will we know when it's live in our tenant?

Brass Contributor

@Tony Derricott you should check your Office 365 message center for an accurate response to this.

Brass Contributor

So what's the difference between this and the Home Site app?

Brass Contributor

@Centurion. From what I know there is no home site app.

You can define one of your SharePoint Online site as the home site

There is also a new feature in deployment the SharePoint app bar.

Viva connections will grab informations/news coming from your home site and also Yammer communities if I understood correctly.

Brass Contributor

I believe he's thinking of Hub Site app which was the previous name of it. That app is now Viva Connections if I don't recall everything wrong.

Copper Contributor

A Hub site is an existing or new site or site(s) that allow other sites to be associated for standardizing navigation, branding, content types, A.I. models(syntex) , and scoping search. It's metadata surrounding sites.

Copper Contributor

Hi all. I see some overlap with Delve, isn't that?

Copper Contributor

Although Delve personalizes content with relevance and social distance, I don't see overlap with Delve but more as a way to organize the best of breed M365 solutions integrated into Teams to enhance, organize and deliver communications, content and other content relevant to a user. One to many communications, one to team, team to team and one to one communications in one UI. I like to think of it as the content command center much like how we use Teams today to centralize content and collaboration but now with global navigation bars, enhanced integration with Yammer and SPO, targeted communications, prioritized views and more.

How long does it normally take to show up in the teams client, i have done the steps but don't seem to have it visible as an app in the teams client ?

Brass Contributor

Sorry showed up after about 15-20mins

Copper Contributor

Hi exists a plan about rollout by tenant? because I can't see SharePoint App Bar in Brazil.

I revised my requitements and do all things that I need to see the Global Navigation, but I can't see this feature.

@Tejas Mehta

We have a classic converted "Modern Communication Home Site" as the page we want to publish using HomeSites. Is this supported?

Hi,

So today I noticed that we have what I'm assuming is Viva appearing in our sharepoint sites.

I don't know how to limit it - it has "create a new site' and "create a new news post". Is there any way of limiting that ability???

Brass Contributor

hi @Brad McCabe . Any update about Viva Connections mobile experience release date?

thanks a lot.

Gab

@gpetino Added to Roadmap on 16th August was an update about Viva Connections App incl add via Teams Admin Center coming November 2021.  Based on webinars & posts from Microsoft Staff I believe that will enable the mobile app too.  see https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/microsoft-365/roadmap?featureid=86542
