Unable to see Word & Excel tasks in To Do

Aren't tasks created via comments in Word and Excel supposed to show up in To Do? I've tested in both a Word doc and Excel workbook. No problem adding a comment, mentioning myself, checking to create a task. I get an email that the task is created, but it doesn't show up in To Do.
